Kimmage DSC has provided courses in development studies since 1974 has established a strong reputation in Ireland and abroad. Students can opt to study our MA courses on a full-time, part-time or through our flexible and distance education model.

Kimmage Development Studies Centre is delighted to announce 3 New Specialist Pathways of learning within its MA in Development Studies Programme. Students can specialise in the areas of Faith and Development; Development and Management or in Globalisation and Change. These new MA pathways are designed to meet the learning needs of those working in different development contexts, students can focus on their areas of specific interest and of development engagement. At the same time, students can still benefit from a broad range of theoretical and practical subject areas within development studies (e.g., Political Economy, Sociology of Development, Anthrolopolgy, Gender & Development), which are based on participatory learning and critical thinking that seeks to empower participants.

MA Globalisation & Change choice of electives include:

  • Human Rights and Advocacy, Movements for Change,
  • Political Economy of Environment,

Adult Learning MA Development & Management choice of electives include:

  • Project Cycles Management,
  • Financial Management,
  • Health & Development,
  • Sustainable Livelihoods & Climate Change,

Adult Learning MA Faith & Development choice of electives include:

Leadership, Development & Ministry, Ethics of Development, Human Development, Adult Learning
